My friend Becky sent me this pic that the photographer from the Houston Chronicle sent her.

He's a couple of inches taller than her and she looks like she just said something sassy to Greta. Just had to share it.

p.s. Just in case you're wondering, no I did not fulfill my goal for the day (see post below). Maybe if I didn't stay up till 1 a.m., then I wouldn't be so tired. I did however, get to the places I needed to go on time. Remember...it's all about baby steps :).

I noticed that I didn't post that many pics of sweet Mia.
These next four are kind of a sequence. Smile, laugh, drool...the things I live for.

This is me playing with the effects on my new camera. I have really great subjects...don't you think?

I had some video to post but this computer is acting up. Mia is going to be 5 months on the 28th. Yikes! How do they grow so fast? I was doing Maddie's hair the other day and I said, "Can't you stay little forever?" She then replies, " Mommy, I have to growed up so I can go down big slides." Ofcourse, what was I thinking? Mia is not crawling but she sure can get where she wants to go. Put her in the middle of the room and she's made it to the other side of the room in 5 seconds flat. She is a smiler too. She smiles all day long. Especially when her daddy sings some classics to her like, "You're just to good to be true..." at least I think that's the name of it. Boy does her face light up.

We have a busy weekend coming up. Tomorrow we're going to the Norwoods for a swimming play date, then home for a nap (unfortunatley that doesn't mean me) and then to the Astros game. My sister and her family are coming into town and Maddie has no idea. Joel (my nephew) called me today and said " Aunt Becca, whatever you do, DO NOT tell Maddie we are coming." So no matter how hard it's been...my lips are sealed. It's great using cousin visits for bribery. So, anyway, we are going to have a ton of fun. Maddie loves her cousins soooo much! I'm sure I'll get plenty of great pics.

I've challenged myself to accomplish 1 goal a day. I work best with baby steps, not long gargantuane strides.Today my goal was to put ALL the laundry away. I am proud to say I reached my goal!!! I do have a little stack next to me, but that's nothing compared to what's normally lying around. I think my goal for tomorrow will be have everything ready for the day before 8:30am. I'll let you know if this happens. Wish me luck.

Why is it so hard for me to keep up? So many little things have happend that I want to share with everyone, but I just can't seem to find the time to post everyday. So, here's an update on what we've been up to.

Mia just got a bumbo! I've been searching high and low for a bargain on those little stinckers. Finally, we passed by a garage sale and ofcourse Steven's like, "Babe, there's nothing but junk there". I, however, insist that we stop, because sometimes I have a sixth sense for deals. What do ya' know? Found a bumbo (still in the box) for $15 and asked if they would take $10 for it. SOLD!!! It's not pink or purple, but it was a steal! Mia seems to really like sitting up like a big girl...isn't she a doll?

These are some pics of Maddie and her second lemonade stand. I don't have any pictures of her first one because my camera was dead. So now she's a pro. We set it up at our garage sale and she would literally yell for customers..."Customers, customers". Then instead of asking this lady if she wanted lemonade, she just shook the coffee can that had her money in it. She would also tell people that she needed money because she wanted to go to Disney World.

I went to my first book sighning last week! It was a children's book, but a book sighning none the less. My friend Becky Helvey wrote and illustrated this super cute book called "Greta's Purpose". It's about her real great dane named Greta, who meets different dogs that have very important jobs and Greta becomes sad because she doesn't feel like she has a purpose. I won't spoil it for you, but all you mommies out there, especially dog lovers NEED to buy this book. Maddie LOVES it and wants to read it every night...warning...it's a bit lengthy...but totally worth it. You can go to www.amazon.com or Barnesandnoble.com to get your own copy.

Maddie with Gretta

Maddie LOVES to get packages in the mail...especially when they have candy in them! (Thanks Nana :)!) Maddie is very good about requesting certain things in her little prizes. This time she asked Nana for Starburst and a tweety bird movie. The only reason she knows who tweety bird is, is because my uncle found a tweety bird fishing pole when we went to the beach and gave it to Maddie. She automatically said" Thank youm...I'v never seen this movie before!" Ya' think she watches a little too much tv?

We had a really great Father's Day! Maddie has a tendency to over wish things like, when it was my birhday, she wished me happy birthday everyday for 3 weeks straight. She would just say it all the time. While she was going to the bathroom, walking into a store, making dinner...all the time. Then it was "Happy Mother's Day!" until recently....it was "Happy Father's Day!" I miss it. Anyway, we made Steven and my dad lunch and Maddie & Mia made it extra special with their sweetness.

Daddy and his girls..yes...Maddie is sitting on a giraffe.

Maddie had her last ballet recital on Monday :(. As much as I'm glad to be rid of the exspense...I'm gonna miss watching her prance and twirl around. Maybe next year.

I guess I'll wrap this very random post up. My computer is not letting post pics anymore. I really hope I can stay on top of this blog.

Hope all is well...sending my love!

It's been a couple of years since I last posted on blogger. I'm on pleo and myspace, so I'll try and keep up with this one too. Done a great job so far ;0.

Maddie is now 3 and our new sweetie is 4 months old. I LOVE being a mommy of 2 girls! Maddie is a super big sis. She has to be there the second Mia wakes up. She climbs in her crib and sings the good morning song, "Good morning to you, good morning to you, good morning to Mia, good morning to you." Then after she helps me change Mia, I get them both out of the crib and Maddie says, " We're two girls!" Whenever Mia smiles at her, Maddie says, "Mommy, she likes me!"

Well, it's late, but I wanted to post something to jump-start me for the week. Like I said, I'll try and keep up :).

Here's Maddie at her first ballet recital. She added her own moves during the routine!

Well, Maddie's 2nd Halloween was a blast! She went as Raggedy Anne and was absolutely precious if I do say so myself! We really didn't go trick -or-treating in our neighborhood, but we visited a couple of friend's houses and then went to visit Popi and Mimi. Her favorite thing to do was help pass out candy to all of the trick-or-treaters. When the doorbell would ring, she'd scream and get all excited. Steven was able to come with us to the first house, but he had a huge test the next day and needed to get back home.
"Candy" is the word of the day in our house these days. She knows how many licks it takes to get to the center of a toostie pop!

Maddie checking out the scenery at the Pumpkin patch!

Hello everyone! I must say, I don't know how I am finding the time to do this. I'm so addicted to myspace, pleonast and now blogger! I love that I can re-connect with so many of my dear friends that I have lost touch with.

We are all happy and well! Maddie is amazing me everyday with all of the new things that she says and does. When we count she'll say "un (one), two, six, eight, nine"! She's so cute I can't stand it. She is constantly pretending with her dollies by putting them to bed, feeding them and sometimes they get little spankings. She doesn't get them very often, but latley we have been battleing with her pulling her hair...out. That's right, she pulls it out! Not because she's angry, but because it's a habit. She sucks her thumb with her left hand and pulls her hair with her right. So needless to say, she has cute curly blonde hair on her left side and practically no hair on the right. I don't know what to do! Steven and I think maybe if we get her to stop sucking her thumb then she will stop pulling her hair. Any suggestions?

Anyway, Steven is in Dental school right now and keeping very busy. Studying 24/7, but he's doing great! Maddie is a wonderful distraction for him though. She starting to realize that Daddy has to study now. The other night cried her little eyes out when he went in our room to study :(. It has been hard to not spend as much time together as a family, but I know God will help us through this. Please pray that these next four years just fly by!

Well, I hope to hear from ya'll soon. Sending lots of love!
